Both Wii and PS3 Make 'Must Have" List

Valleywag has compiled a "Top 10 Must Haves Of The Past" and both PS3 and Wii made the list. Unfortunately, the list isn't in any order; it's simply a photo gallery with a few words about each of their honorees.

Wii: The ever-inventive Nintendo split from its competitors by making its latest gaming system more friendly than the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. The move worked sort of like Clinton shifting to the political center while everyone else energized the base; it sold out upon its launch.

PlayStation 3: Sony's latest gaming system was supposed to sell out; fans did the whole stand-in-line thing just as they did for the Nintendo Wii in the same 2006 Christmas season. But as the wise guys at Penny Arcade illustrated, it didn't exactly disappear from the shelves.
